Beginning the Journey

Thank you for joining me here. This blog is a place where I’ll share recurring thoughts, moments, and insights gathered from my work with clients, my personal journey, and the writings of teachers who continue to inspire me—Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, and others whose presence and guidance resonate deeply in both my personal and professional life.

So here we are, at the beginning. Together. Take a moment. Take a breath.

The Morning That Sparked This Post

This morning, I found myself sitting on the porch, quietly reflecting on the meaningful work I get to do in my work with and for you, on the needs of my continued learning and insight in the field and in the field of clinical health. I looked up to the sky and saw trees, steady and still, while the clouds drifted effortlessly through them. As I was preparing to write about my approach to treatment, approach that goes far beyond the therapeutic approaches I learned in school and practiced in the last 17 years, I asked, inwardly: Let me find the words. Let there be clarity. Let there be flow.

And as I watched the clouds, I noticed how gracefully they moved—without resistance—through the branches. I thought of the forest of my thoughts, my assumptions, my inner tangles, standing strongly side by side in a dense formation. And I longed not only to see these thoughts, but to rise above them—to move with them, through them, like the clouds above me.

Words Begin to Flow

Moved by that moment, I reached for my journal—something I carry often, but noticed anew. Embossed on its cover were the words Inner Workings, and something about that felt right. True. I began to write, and the words came freely, like water returning to its source. There was direction, meaning, and the quiet sense that I had been guided to exactly what needed to be expressed.

An Invitation to You

So here is what I offer you, in this post and in the many to come:
May you pause long enough to notice the signposts on your own journey. They are there—gentle, often quiet, always meaningful.
May you give yourself permission to rest, to breathe, and to be.
And may you rediscover the flow within you—that place of clarity, creativity, and connection.

Life is here. Now. Unfolding in all its challenge and beauty. Life is a gift—abundant, mysterious, and good—even as challenge weaves its way through the seasons of our days and years.
It is a gift. And you are part of it.
